Will You Ever Love Me?

©2009 Bailey Thompson

I wish you’d love me

The way I love you

It’s too deep, you can’t see

That’s a barrier I want to break through

On me, you’ve left your mark

That I can’t seem to erase

I’m stuck, alone and dark

I can’t forget your face

Never before have I loved someone

As much as I love you

It’s a battle, but she has won

For she’s stole the heart of you

It’s only her I hate

For taking you away

But you know I’ll wait

Forever, until you decide to stay

I cannot look at another

Without comparing him to you

You’re better than any other

As they always come in number two

Every night, I dream

You’re holding me tight

Everything is perfect, it seems

Reality hits when it turns light

But can dreams come true?

I’ve never been sure

We’ll make it happen by working through

We’d find love, so deep and pure

You’re only a dream

I know, we’ve already tried

I lost you, I lost my gleam

Something inside me died

It scarred my soul

And left me drowning in pain

My heart cannot be whole

You left me to go insane

Please tell me boy,

Why can’t we be one

Your presence I’ll always enjoy

Our love will be as hot as the sun

It’ll be the most unique love

It’ll be as deep as the sea

But it will reach the heavens above

Together we’d always be

Will you ever love me?

The way I love you?

Will you ever be able to see?

That barrier, let's break through.

Author's note: I remember writing this poem and I remember who it was for. He left me broken hearted and I wanted him back more than ever. What I don't remember is why.

What can I say? I like to write!
