Time

It’s not waiting for me

And it’s going way too fast

Why can’t time slow down,

I want it to last!

Who knows what’s coming next

Where will I be one minute from now

Anything could happen

I want to know how

At any given time

The world could be done

We don’t know what will happen

We don’t know what will come

What about the past

What I did before

Can’t be changed

Or redone any more

Life isn’t like the Sims

Where you can exit

Without saving

And redo what you did before you quit

The future is too unknown

And the past is no more than a memory

neither is controllable

The only thing controllable is now, what a discovery!

Live life in the present

Not worrying about the past – it can’t be redone

Don’t look to far into the future – it’s too far away

Live in the current moment, so that life’s fun!

By Bailey Thompson

Author's note: This was a slightly random poem. I'd been thinking a lot about how each second that goes by is literally done, you can't change it. One second, one minute, one day sooner than the day you die, sort of.
You only get one chance for each minute... Make it good!

What can I say? I like to write!
